Rail - Glasgow / Fort William

Direct train service from Glasgow Queen Street Station (note services from the South arrive at Glasgow Central and necessitate a short walk / taxi ride between stations). For services see www.firstgroup.com/scotrail/index.php.

Rail - Caledonian Sleeper

There is an overnight sleeping car service which runs daily from London Euston to Fort William. For services and fares see www.firstgroup.com/scotrail/content/caledoniansleeper/index.php . Due to the fact that the train arrives early and departs late, we have special arrangements to collect your luggage from the station on the morning of your arrival deliver it to the station in time for your train South on the day of your departure.

Coach Services - Glasgow, Edinburgh, Skye and Inverness to Fort William

Scottish Citylink run long-distance coach services to Fort William and current timetables and fares are available at

Road

There are many different routes to Fort William, each with it’s own special qualities. The main route North is the A82 from Glasgow but a less frenetic journey is to take the route bypassing Glasgow to the East and come North via Stirling and Callander. From the North the road into the Fort is again the A82 either from Inverness or joining from the A87 Dalwhinnie road at Spean Bridge.

Air

Several air operators fly into Inverness Airport (70 miles North East of Fort William). Allow at least two and a half hours for the drive South. Several car hire companies have hire desks at the airport but local Inverness operators will deliver cars to the arrivals area.
